Second, Esker Cycles is helping get some new trail built in their home state of Montana.
Flathead Valley, MT— September 9, 2019 — Esker Cycles is proud to announce the Montana Trails Fundraiser, a collaboration with Southwest Montana Mountain Bike Association, Flathead Area Mountain Bikers, and MTB Missoula, which aims to raise money for mountain bike trails throughout the state of Montana.
As a mountain biking location, Montana has a unique opportunity to preserve and maintain access to a wealth of public lands and trail riding opportunities, as well as to create new mountain bike trails throughout the region.
“Mountain biking as a sport requires two major things—the bikes to ride and the open spaces and trails to ride them on. As a company, our goal is to have people riding mountain bikes, so we need to do more than just make bikes—we need to support those that give us a place to ride,” said Tim Krueger, President of Esker.
Together with these mountain bike advocacy organizations, Esker Cycles has created the Montana Trails Fundraiser to support the ongoing trail building and maintenance efforts. All funds will be split evenly between the trail organizations and will be used to support mountain biking throughout the state.
“Trails are a unique fixture of our Montana culture, they provide public land access and an escape from the modern world, and these organizations dedicate thousands of hours each year to the creation, upkeep, and revitalization of them,” said Ian Jones, President of SWMMBA.
The Esker brand and its founders have a history of advocating for the cycling community, and plan to continue with this heritage. To serve this mission, Esker Cycles plans to partner with select mountain bike organizations on an ongoing basis to raise funds that will help benefit and grow the sport of mountain biking.
“As a mountain bike brand from Montana, we thought the best place to start was to give away our first bike model in support of our home-state’s trails. Montana has some extremely active, and important groups that help us protect trails everyday from government re-designation, development and private land purchases, and create new trails for everyone to ride. These trails are what make our bikes, and so we want to use a bike and help make some trails,” said Krueger.
Donations will be raised in $10 increments between September 9 and October 20, 2019, are available on an unlimited basis with equal weight being given to each $10 donation. At the completion of the fundraiser, Esker Cycles will provide a complete carbon fiber full-suspension Esker Elkat S to one randomly selected donor.
