Interbike First Look: Giant AnyRoad

We’re excited to see more bikes coming around for the kind of riding we love the most: rambling adventures from the city to the mountains. The Giant AnyRoad might not have an innovative name, but the design is perfect for a huge segment of the bike-riding market. The aluminum frame offers a hugely sloping top tube for standover clearance, room for 700x48c tires, a carbon fiber fork and fender mounts.
If you’re wondering who Abigal is, Giant names all its demo bikes to make them easier to keep track of.
There are two versions available: the AnyRoad 1, pictured here, which retails for $1,225 with a Shimano Tiagra 10-speed group; and the AnyRoad 2, which has a 9-speed Sora group. Both models use Disc brakes with SRAM BB7 or BB5 brakes, respectively. The AnyRoad is also equipped with new Giant tires, the P-RX model seen here, in a 700x28c size.
Another cool feature is these wing-shaped bar-top brake levers that can increase confidence for beginner riders.
Though a 2014 model, early AnyRoad models have already shipped to dealers.
