Kyle Strait Signs with Pivot Cycles
Originally posted on April 15, 2010 at 23:05 pmPivot Cycles just announced they will be the frame sponsor for a newly-formed World Cup race team for the 2010 season. Joining Strait on Team Lex/Pivot Racing are two other world-class riders—Mitch Delfs and Will Rischbieth, both from Australia. This bicycle racing power trio will hit all six rounds of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, as well as the aforementioned Sea Otter Classic, Kokanee Crankworx and other special events around the world.
On joining Team Lex/Pivot Racing, Strait says, “I’m really looking forward to racing for this new team with sponsors and team mates I really respect. Having the support to race around the world in World Cup events plus other key events here in the US, is very important to me. I want to be build on the top 15 results I got last year, and I know with Pivot and our other co-sponsors, I have a great chance to do that.”
Like all good relationships, both parties in this sponsorship deal will benefit. In the case of Pivot Cycles, they’ll be getting some serious input and feedback on the development of their new downhill bike, as well as some high visibility. “World Cup Downhill Racing is a great place to showcase the innovative dw-link technology and Pivot’s design and manufacturing expertise,” says Pivot Cycles founder Chris Cocalis.
Lifestyle Excessive (Lex) is a relatively new kid on the bicycle racing block. Spawned from the Charles Cannon advertising agency in Switzerland, Lex is a “a new youth brand who have created their own clothing line and produced some amazing photography work.”
Justin and Karl both spent some time aboard a couple Pivot Cycles in the past, and you can read their reviews here: Justin’s review of the Pivot Mach 429 and Karl’s review of the Pivot Mach 5.
And just for fun, here’s a clip of Kyle ripping it up from a couple years ago.
