USA Cycling has announced the dates and locations for the majority of its 2010 National Championship events. Of particular interest to mountain bikers looking to race for Stars-and-Stripes jerseys are the following events.

24-Hour Mountain Bike National Championships – June 12-13th. Ultra-endurance mountain bikers will gather in Hazelton, WV at the 24 Hours of Big Bear where USA Cycling will award national championships in nine individual / team categories.

Marathon Mountain Bike National Championships – July 4th. The Championship event returns to Breckenridge, CO where it will be held in conjunction with the Firecracker 50.

Mountain Bike National Championships – July 15-18th. The event will award  national titles to pros and amateurs in several disciplines including cross country, downhill, short track cross country, four-cross, single speed, and super D. At this time the site has not been announced, but USA Cycling has revealed that the venue will be: “a site yet be determined in the Rocky Mountains.”

In addition to crowning MTB national champions, USA Cycling will award 2010 championships to BMX, road, track and cyclocross racers. Visit the USA Cycling website for more information on the 16 national championships events slated for 2010.
