Philly Bike Expo: Olivetti Bicycles

With storms in the mid-west and high winds up and down the east coast on Halloween,  Peter Olivetti sat deep into the night in a Chicago airport wondering if he would make it to this year’s Philly Bike Expo. Eventually, Olivetti made it to Philadelphia but his bikes were still in limbo, victims of the Russian Roulette we all play when checking bags on flights with layovers, only Peter wasn’t able to run to Target for a fresh pair of custom bikes like a fresh pair of undies.

Thankfully for Olivetti, his bikes showed up, unscathed even though the boxes looked like they had suffered heavy abuse on their journey. If you recognize Peter Olivetti’s name we have featured him a few times over the last couple of years. Olivetti split the difference with his bikes this year. The first a drop bar singletrack machine harkens back to glory days of  John Tomac as well as tickling the monster cross-genre.

The second bike is perhaps the ultimate coffee shop, flat bar gravel bump around town bike. Equipped with some beautiful custom made retro bars and big fat 700c tires this “coffee” bike was a real looker. The cascading paint job almost spans the levels of how much cream and sugar one would take with their cup o’ joe, for the record I like mine black.
