Philly Bike Expo: Engin Cycles

Philly Bike Expo is easily one of our favorite events of the year. Despite our cross-state hockey rivalry, we love to visit Philadelphia. As noted by many of the attendees, the vibe at the Philly Bike Expo is always so positive, warm and welcoming and each year there are new vendors, new builders, and always something new to celebrate. This year we decide to feature as many of the handmade mountain bikes as we could. Philadelphia has an amazing mountain bike scene with the Wissahickon and Belmont trails located right in the city and a plethora of great riding destinations nearby, the Expo has seen a nice increase in builders showing mountain bikes.

With Engin Cycles located in Philadelphia, it seemed only fitting to start this series off with two absolutely gorgeous trail shredders on their home turf. The first of the two bikes has some incredible anodization and design work by Jake Beadenkopf. Last year we were able to spend a day visiting with Drew Guldalian of Engin Cycles to learn a bit more about his process and how he got started in frame building.(You can check that out here.)

Drew’s builds are always stunning, featuring dropouts, bottom brackets, chainstay yokes, seatpost clamps and more all fabricated in his shop in Philadelphia. Enjoy these two stunning builds and stay tuned for a whole lot more coming from the Philly Bike Expo.
