Snowshoe World Cup: Downhill Practice
Originally posted on September 5, 2019 at 23:53 pmWhatever concerns that may have been floating around the internet about the track at Snowshoe being to tame or to buff were completely dispelled after yesterday’s walkthrough and today’s practice laps. Holding to West Virginia’s theme of ‘Wild and Wonderful’ the course for Saturday’s World Cup Final is more than worthy of this year’s final stop.
After our visit to the resort a few weeks back Sean Leader and the crew at Snowshoe have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on the course. If you are at all familiar with the riding at Snowshow then you know the theme in the Western Territory is steep and rocky. The wooded section of the course offers challenges as well as options for the riders.
Carrying over some steam from his third World Champion victory, Loic Bruni seemed to be riding on rails already. With the overall for the season undecided he’s sure to let it all hang out Saturday afternoon.
The Women’s overall has yet to be decided as well and Tracey Hanna and Mariam Cabirou will be pushing their limits to try and solidify their spot at the top of the podium.
