Thirty years ago today the first issue of Dirt Rag Magazine hit the street. Hand-stapled and made with love, it was the beginning of a long ride that we are still on today. Along with being the birth year of the magazine, 1989 was a heavy and strange year for music. Hair metal was the sound du jour but the underground was bubbling all over the globe. It’s no mystery that we are big music fans around here so in honor of the time we have chosen a selection of songs that were released in the first few months of ’89 that likely influenced our early mountain bike musings. Enjoy the mix here and stay tuned for more from the year of our creation.
