Buying a Jones was always a custom affair, at least until today. Jones has a new complete bike that saves both money and time for riders looking to get on one of Jeff Jones’s modern-yet-rigid trail bikes.

For $1,799 you’ll get a solidly spec’ed bike. Money has been saved with less expensive tubing in the frame, and assembly is handled in China instead of Oregon.

Jones has been expanding sizes for a few years, and now has small, medium, large which are claimed to fit from 5′ to 6′ 6″.

The parts kit is a no-nonsense mix of sturdy parts, including a 1×10 wide-range drivetrain, Tekro brake with oversize rotors, and wide rims with Maxxis Chronicle 27.5×3.0 tires.

Up front is a Jones Loop H-bar in 710 mm width.

Jeff breaks it all down while building and riding one of the new bikes:

You can check out the full spec and get more info on the Jones website.

Jones continues to sell Plus SWB and Plus LWB frames as custom builds, but the new complete bikes bring the price down to a level more approachable to a wider range of riders.

We review the custom-built version of this bike in Dirt Rag 205, the issue you’ll find on the newsstand. I won’t spill all the beans, but Dirt Rag hasn’t met a Jones we haven’t loved riding….
