Skyline is a 15-mile (one-way) singletrack trail in southern California’s Big Bear and San Bernadino National Forest—a cross country ride on a high mountain ridge with few sustained up or downhill grades. The trail is relatively flat but hangs out between 7,500 and 8,000 feet, so bring your lungs!
The Big Bear Valley Trails Foundation and U.S. Forest Service worked together to craft this trail and intend for it to be part of a much larger system. Eventually, you’ll be able to ride this one way as part of a 15-mile loop. If this ride still isn’t enough for you, there are a few, short side trails that will allow you to tack on a handful of additional miles and even more stunning views.
If you’re more the bike park type, fear not. Skyline is connected to both the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski resorts, the latter of which features SoCal’s only lift-served bike park.
