IMBA TAKMBD

For more than a decade, IMBA has hosted Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day in October. This year, for the first time, it has added a spring event on June 11. You’re invited to register a ride, sign up for an existing one, or simply spend the day enjoying dirt on two wheels with the kid(s) in your life.

IMBA’s Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) strives to encourage communities in the U.S. and around the world to join together and ride mountain bikes with kids. TKMBD events range in size from a few kids and families to hundreds of people gathering at a local park or trailhead. IMBA clubs and chapters, retail shops, Trips for Kids chapters, schools, scouts and community groups are encouraged to host events. Last year, more than 15,000 kids and family members participated in 150+ community events in the U.S. and around the world.

This year’s TKMBD theme is based on IMBA’s four tenants: Speak, Build, Respect, Ride. IMBA will provide an educational activity plan for participants to learn about what it means to be an advocate and a mountain biker.

IMBA provides tips for creating a fun event, as well as a map of registered rides. Register by May 11 to receive a care package from IMBA and its event partners.
