The twelfth annual Whiskey Off Road kicked off the Epic Rides Off-Roads Series over the weekend, 2,000 riders enjoyed perfect trail conditions and an estimated 10,000 spectators enjoyed the party along Whiskey Row in Prescott, Arizona.
Highlights
- Friday’s 15 Proof Fun Ride guided riders of all skill level on a scenic course of mixed singletrack/dirt road. With plenty of climbing and an attainable descent back to Whiskey Row, riders enjoyed dropping into Whiskey weekend on a lighter note.
- The Pro Men’s and Women’s Fat Tire Crits were blazingly fast and highly contented. Thousands lined the streets and occupied the Sierra Nevada Beer Garden to cheer on the action. Chloe Woodruff and Sam Gaze proved strongest, respectively. See the full results here.
- Saturday’s 50 Proof and 30 Proof Amateur Rides guided about 1,500 riders on a tour of pristine Northern AZ singletrack. Spotty rains kept the dirt tacky and provided riders the perfect ingredients for fun.
- The Crosseyed Possum, Kenny James, Road One South rocked the main stage until rains took over Saturday afternoon, but weather didn’t spoil the party. Headliner Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers took it indoors and packed the house at one of Prescott’s infamous pubs.
- The Pro Men’s and Women’s XC events drew an international field of high caliber talent. More than 100 pros showed up to vie for their share of the $30,000 cash purse split evenly between the males and females. Chloe Woodruff and Howard Grotts took the top spots, and pocketed $5,000 each. See the full results here.
- The Bike & Gear Expo welcomed the industry’s most innovative brands including Shimano, Stan’s NoTubes, Pivot Cycles, Maxxis Tires, Camelbak, Endura, KMC, and more.
- Sunday’s Shimano Youth Series Kids Fun Ride drew over 170 kids to stride and pedal their way around Whiskey Row and Granite Creek
