Join Dirt Rag for WoodFest at the Wheel Mill
Originally posted on January 22, 2015 at 13:26 pmThis time of year isn’t ideal for mountain biking in the Midwest, so we’ve become huge fans of the Wheel Mill in Pittsburgh, a massive indoor bike park with flow lines, jump lines, a pump track, a skills park, a foam pit and more. It’s the perfect antidote to the winter blues.
This year on January 31 and February 1 we’re teaming up with the Wheel Mill to celebrate the first Wood Fest, a two-day festival with skill classes, vendors, the famous “Dirt Rag Garage Sale”, indoor camping, local vendors, food and drink and of course, a ton of riding.
You can grab a bike to demo from one of the local bike shops or bring your own. If you want to improve your skills and get a jump on your buddies in the spring, join a skills clinic with TakeAim Cycling, the same folks who teach lessons at Dirt Fest. Grab a bite to eat from Over The Bars Cafe and Point Brugge, who will be on-hand, and if you’re coming from out of town you can even camp out right inside the venue overnight. Dirt Rag will be hosting its annual Garage Sale too, so bring some cash for screaming deals on bikes and cycling accessories.
Standard rates apply if you want to ride the park or camp, but otherwise the event is totally free. Register now if you’d like to camp or set up a swap meet table.
Hope to see you there!
