American Classic continues to evolve its mountain bike line with more wheel sizes and more terrain categories. All the wheels get updated graphics for 2013, doing away with the white and red look for a more subdued black and gray.

The lightweight Race wheels are available in 26-inch, 650b, and 29-inch, are tubeless compatible, and weigh in at 1,361g for the 26-inch to 1,459g for the 29-inch. Even with the light weight, the rim has a 24mm internal width for a larger footprint and the hubs can be set up to match any of the popular standards. Price is $999 for the set.

The All-Mountain wheels use a very similar rim, but with a more robust wall thickness for greater strength. It too is available in all three sizes and the common hub specs, and weighs in at 1,608g to 1,752g from 26- to 29-inch. Price is $900 for the set.

The Terrain wheels are a price-point wheelset that also hit the three major sizes and common hub options, and weigh in at 1,782g to 1,895g. They come in at $470 for the set.

Finally, the regular cross-country tubeless wheels are still available, though only in 26- and 29-inch sizes. They weigh in at 1,486 and 1,600g respectively.

All of the 2013 hubs and some previous model hubs will be able to accept American Classic’s new SRAM XX1-specfic freehub body for 11-speed use. There is now a Lefty front hub as well.

Those folks building up their own wheels can choose the 101 rims, which come in all three sizes, weigh in under 380g and are tubeless compatible.
