Niner tweaks Jet 9 family with redesigned RDO, new Carbon

We were enamored with the original Jet 9 RDO we reviewed in Issue #164 (read our first impressions here and here) and now Niner has announced some changes that make it even more likable.

The Jet 9 RDO now sports a slightly modified carbon layup, a new carbon fiber rocker link, and a 142×12 rear axle. The geometry and 100-120mm fork compatibility remains unchanged, and the frame weight is within grams of the old version. There is also now an XS size with a standover height of just 26.5 inches, so almost anyone will fit one. The new Jet 9 RDO frame will retail for $2,899.

But before you get a bad case of buyer’s remorse: the rear end and link can be retrofitted to the current Jet 9 RDO or the standard Jet 9 Carbon.

What’s that? Basically the original version remains in the lineup as the Jet 9 Carbon, with the alloy link and 135mm quick release rear wheel. Bikes equipped with a Shimano SLX build will be available in October for $3,899, with a frame-only option to follow.
