2012 24-hour World Championships cancelled due to lack of participants
Originally posted on August 20, 2012 at 14:27 pmPretty shocking news this week as word came that the 24-hour World Championships to be held in Canmore, Alberta, Canada, would be cancelled due to lack of sponsor support and low participation.
In a letter posted on the 24 Hours of Adreniline website, race founder Stuart Dorland said it would not be "economically and administratively feasible" to hold the race.
The popularity of 24-hour racing as a whole seems to be declining rapidly, as riders take on new challenges such as 100-mile races or enduro racing.
What do you think? Is 24-hour racing going to be a thing of the past?
