ENVE has been leading the way in carbon rim development from its headquarters in Ogden, Utah, and still manufactures all its products there. There are essentially two mountain bike model lines: the XC and the AM, with internal rim widths of 18 and 24mm respectively. For 2012, both models will be available in 26-inch, 650b (pictured), and 29-inch sizes with updated graphics from previous years.

New this year is also the downhill model, pictured above, with a slightly smaller internal width (21mm) because of the thicker layup. Also exclusive to ENVE – and this model in particular – is the Zyvex technology that helps the resin bond with the carbon, making for a stronger layup. It was developed for military ballistic impact resistance, and is exclusive to ENVE for the next two years.

Also new this year is ENVE’s new 5-year warranty, the longest in the industry for a carbon rim manufacturer, a nice way to protect your investment. And should the worst happen, they offer a 50 percent discount crash replacement policy.

If you look closely in this photo, you’ll see one other thing that is coming your way…
