Niner Air9 Carbon gets Race Day Optimized

Niner’s expanding line of RDO (Race Day Optimized) products got a big new addition with the unveiling of the Air9 Carbon RDO, an even lighter and more refined version of the Air9 Carbon.

Changes include a completely new rear end with revised dropouts and the relocation of the post-mount brake mount to the top of the chainstay. Also gone is the eccentric bottom bracket, instead replaced with a PF30 shell for geared-only use (though eccentric PF30 adapters are out there… Word from Niner is they do NOT recommend this.) The frame is said to be a half-pound lighter than the standard Carbon Air9.

Color choices are limited to black and Niner Green. There will be 50 specially-spec’d Shimano XTR-equipped versions offered for a limited time, for $6,199, complete with a custom-painted RockShox XX SID fork. The frameset retails for $2,099.
