Intense unveils lighter Carbine SL carbon

Intense has been getting rave reviews for its Carbine trail bike, and now they’ve gone and lightened it up to create an all-new teammate.

The SL has VPP and an adjustable 4.75-5.25 inches of travel, and swaps in a new carbon rear swingarm and a new carbon fiber upper link to drop half a pound. Also gone is the switchable rear dropout, so a 135mm QR is the only option. The headtube angle is also a touch steeper than its brother, at 68-69 degrees.

Other details include a custom-tuned Fox Float RP3 with Kashima coating, titanium bolts, tapered headtube, direct mount front derailleur, and downtube and chainstay protectors.

Bikes should begin shipping in March or April, so for now you’ll have to drool over the photos. MSRP is $2,819.
