Spotted online: Lenz Sport Mammoth prototype

Countless hours spent surfting the web once again pay off, in this case by spotting a beautiful unveiling of a prototype of Lenz Sport‘s new Mammoth 29er platform.
Mike Curiak, an endurance racing legend and Mountain Bike Hall-of-Fame nominee, spilled the beans on the blog of his hand-built wheelset business, LaceMine29.com.
Unlike many bikes in the 5-inch travel category, the Mammoth is not designed for hucking or aggressive descending, instead it’s meant as light and fast tool for covering large amounts of terrain.
"It’s kind of a mix of things put together," said Devin Lenz, describing it as a mashup of the four-inch Leviathan platform and the heavier Behemoth. It was designed around the new 140mm 29er forks, he said.
Modern touches will include an oversized headtube and eventually 142mm rear spacing, though this prototype is 135mm.
Bikes should be available for customers by spring, Lenz said, with an MSRP of $2,300.
