A detailed look at new Whisky Parts

Quality Bicycle Products, the bicycle industry’s largest wholesale distributor and parent company of Surly and Salsa bikes, pulled the cover off their new carbon fiber forks and accessories brand, Whisky Parts Co.

In late July they will be offering a complete line of high-performance road, cross and mountain bike forks, with carbon handlebars, seatposts and bottle cages following in the fall.

Brand Manager Jason Grantz says the brand is not a "value" brand, it’s designed to compete head on with ENVE and other high-quality carbon fiber manufacturers, but their parts are designed for hard-working cyclists who are more concerned with quality and durability than having the lightest-weight components.

"Our philosophy is ‘Pedal Harder’ if you want to go faster," Grantz said.

The brand will operate autonomously under the QBP umbrella, and in the future the parts may be seen co-branded with its sister brands. Grantz is also in talks with ‘known manufactuers’ to provide parts for factory builds.

There are no plans to produce frames, Grantz said.

The parts available in July include:

  • Whisky No.7 Cross Disc Fork, Straight Leg, 28.6 | 40 (1-1/2" Tapered), 51mm Total Clearance – UD Matte & UD Gloss
