First Impression: Intense Tracer 29

Intense and Dirt Rag have both been around for more than 20 years. We’ve somehow never tested an Intense. That is a problem, and I’m correcting it as you read.

Yessir, a Tracer 29, 140mm of VPP travel, made in the USA, already muddy.

That is a straight 1.5 head tube, with a Cane Creek tapered headset.

SRAM dispatched a full XO group, this is the 26-39 crankset.

Hydraulic remote adjustable Rock Shox Reverb seatpost.

FSA Gravity 777 bar. Yes, it is still the full 30 and 1/2" wide. I remember the days when bars were 20" wide. I like these days better.

I’ve been riding these tires for awhile on another bike, look for a review in Dirt Rag #154. Sun Ringle Charger Pro, Maxxis Ardent 2.4’s.

The SRAM MatchMaker in action. Avid brakes, SRAM shifter, Rock Shox remote for the Reverb post, all on one clamp, but able to be adjusted independently.

Reviews are not all settled yet, but look for XO and Charger Pros in #154, and the Tracer in #155. Me, I’ll be hoping to slip in a Trip to Ray’s during Christmas travels, might as well take the Tracer with me. Now, where are my platforms and shin guards?
