Competitive Cyclist is hosting Turner Trail Day at the Syllamo trail system near Mountain View, Arkansas on Saturday, November 7th. The event will include trail maintenance, Turner mountain bike demos, lunch, and an opportunity to meet and ride with Dave Turner, namesake and founder of Turner Suspension Bicycles. This is a free event.

The Syllamo trails were devastated by an ice storm in the early part of this year. Local volunteers and Forest Service personnel have been working to get the trails re-opened, and on November 7th the plan is to finish off the rest of the work required to open the Bad Branch (red) Loop. Trail work will begin at 8:00 a.m. and maintenance duties will mostly consist of brush work, removal of “face slappers” and general tread sweeping. Come dressed for trail work (a weedeater and/or pruners would be welcome additions, if you have them).

After doing the trail work in the early part of the day, the plan is to get down to some riding and serious fun afterwards. Competitive Cyclist will provide some fine grilled trailhead cuisine and high-performance beverages to finish out the day. To help Competitive Cyclist plan ahead, please contact them if you’d like to join them for the free trail-side meal. To RSVP or for more event information email [email protected] or call 888.276.7130.

Meet at the Bad Branch Trailhead which is accessed from Green Mountain Road, the first gravel road going west from Arkansas Highway 5, about 0.5 miles north of Jack’s Fishing Resort in Allison, Arkansas.
