29er notches first World Cup win

Well, it was bound to happen eventually. Czech rider Jaroslav Kulhavy stormed to victory in the elite men’s cross country mountain bike World Cup in Dalby, Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom on Sunday, May 22.

The win marked the first for big wheels in a men’s World Cup race, as Kulhavy finished 50 seconds ahead of his rivals on a Specialized S-Works Epic 29er. Kulhavy was onboard his 20.9lbs. Epic with a 2×10 drivetrain including front SRAM 39/27 rings.
